Planning Committee Report 2nd February 2015 LPC Meeting Minutes & Reports

A parishioner enquired if there was any feedback from suggestions made concerning the planning process and dialogue with Maidstone Borough Council?

Cllr. Gillett recommended the appropriate comments should be discussed at full LPC meeting and invited the parishioner to attend the meeting on 4th February.


The Chairman opened the meeting at 7.35pm

  1.                                           PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED

14/500166/FULL         Faraway, Green Way Platts Heath ME17 2NT

22nd January 2015       Addition of first floor with roof alterations and single storey side extension

to the rear of garage.

We do not wish to object.


  1.                                             NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN REPORT

Cllr. Gillett reported on the Scrutiny Committee meeting at Maidstone Town Hall.

He thanked Cllrs. Greenwood, Powell and Sams for their support, also members of the Save Lenham campaign group.  The three sites in the parish discussed were Tanyard Farm, Glebe Gardens and Ham Lane.  The recommendations of the Scrutiny committee will be presented to cabinet for further consideration.

Cllr. Gillett is in correspondence with A. Blackmore (MBC leader) and Hugh Robertson MP, to further the case for LPC to have equal discussion time for H2 sites.

The next step will be to discuss at full LPC meeting the way forward for the NHP.


  1.                                                 CORRESPONDENCE

A letter from the Runham Lane residents’ action group, with a request for letters to be sent to MBC enforcement to express opposition to the development of the motocross site by 12th February.  Also to consider contributing to the costs of fighting the case against the development of the site.  Cllrs. suggested discussing further at LPC meeting, following advice from KALC and contacting Harrietsham PC to ask if they would consider contributing funds.


A letter from Lenham Bowls Club requesting LPC help to register the club as a Community Asset.  Cllrs. agreed to discuss at LPC meeting.


KCC Highways notice of waiting restriction order for Faversham Road to be discussed at LPC meeting.
