REPORT OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

ON WEDNESDAY 18th OCTOBER 2017 AT 7.30pm

Cllrs. M Ballard, M Cockett, C Huggens, R Greenwood & A Walmsley.

PUBLIC PATICIPATION

The applicant from the Bow Window confirmed the sheds will be used solely for storage facilities and

not for cooking or food preparation.

Cllr. Osborne advised a resident to seek pre-application advice from MBC on a site with development opportunity, with reference to the Neighbourhood Plan 2021 -2031.

17/503919/FULL        3rd October

Retrospective change of use from A1 to A3 use, replace two waste storage sheds with new cottage style storage shed.

The Bow Window The Square Lenham ME17 2PG

Provided the works and use are in accordance with the application,

We wish to see approved.

 

17/504494/FULL      10th October

Erection of a two-storey side and rear extension and demolition of conservatory. Amended plan details.

1 Council Cottages Headcorn Road Platts Heath.

We have no comments.

 

17/504326/FULL         12th October

Conversion of the storage building into five residential units.

Chapel Farm Lenham Heath Road Lenham Heath.

We recognise this is a brownfield site, but unsure as to who the target market is?

It would appear to be development in an unsustainable rural area.

We have no objections.

 

  1. NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN REPORT

The analysis of the questionnaires from the public consultation event is on the LPC web-site.

Cllr. Cockett confirmed grant funding for the Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA) which should be completed by end of December.

Cllr. Osborne reported consultation meetings with stakeholders will be undertaken, including local parish councils, local schools and the Len Valley surgery. Infrastructure meetings with developers to discuss the masterplan for six sites will take place in November.

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED

It was acknowledged that correspondence has been circulated concerning the proposed adoption of the Maidstone Borough Local Plan. Cllr. Osborne requested fellow Cllrs. confirm their support of the local plan and hoped B. Cllrs. would do likewise.
