REPORT OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE ON WEDNESDAY 20th SEPTEMBER 2017

17/504431/TPO 6th September
TPO application for 5no Beech Trees – Fell and replant as required Land at the rear of 8 – 12 Groom Way Lenham.
We wish to see approved.

Erection of a two-storey side and rear extension and demolition of conservatory
1 Council Cottages Headcorn Road Platts Heath
To be discussed further at the next planning meeting 2nd October.
The chairman reported that the car wash recently opened at Old Ashford Road did not have planning permission and intended to apply retrospectively. Concerns about drainage problems have been raised with the Environment Agency and investigations will be undertaken. It was therefore noted the car wash operator was awaiting planning permission.
- NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN REPORT
The public consultation on Saturday 16th September was a success with over 300 people attending the exhibition of the 2017 draft plan. Analysis of the responses to the questionnaires at the event and around the village, will be undertaken by Cllr. Cockett.
A one to one question and answer session will take place on Tuesday 26th September at the Community Centre 6-8pm.
At the present time the parish council will not be commenting on the letter from Helen Whately MP to Sajid Javid MP requesting a holding direction on the Maidstone Local Plan; if the minister calls in MBC’s plan then Lenham Parish Council will review the situation again. The council will proceed to Regulation 14 as per the original time table, which aims to complete Regulation 14 by the end of this year.
- CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED
Cllrs. agreed to meet with the developers of the site south of Glebe pond, to determine the work schedule of the tree clearance and pond improvements and the transfer of the land to the council, following the completion of the works.
A letter concerning the overnight parking of HGVs in Dickley Lane and the overgrown footpath along the A20 will be reported to KCC Highways.
