REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE ON WEDNESDAY 21st MAY 2014 FOLLOWING THE PLANNING MEETING.

GROUND MAINTENANCE & ENVIRONMENT WORKS/REPAIRS
The replacement of the driveway fence at the cemetery was discussed following a request for close board fencing as a joint initiative with the neighbouring property.
Concerns were raised with the ongoing costs of maintenance and repair/insurance of the proposed fence. It was agreed the original choice of replacing like for like would be the best option. Clerk will inform neighbouring property owner.
Cllr. Greenwood will organise a quote for replacement of tree on the drive at the cemetery.
Ham Lane play area repairs outstanding from recent inspection. Cllr. Greenwood and Knowles will organise quotes for works/replacements.
Landscape Services are now the grounds contractors for the parish. Cllr. Greenwood requested weed spraying on the pathways throughout the churchyard to prevent further damage to the path surface.
Cheques for consideration and payment 21st May 2014
No payments proposed.
Replacement signatories for the bank accounts will be discussed at the next LPC meeting on June 4th. Two new signatories are required.
The consultation on the suggestion of a one way traffic system at School Lane Platts Heath
will be closed at the end of the month. Responses will be collated and the results made public in an article in the Focus magazine. A letter will be sent to Boughton Malherbe Parish Council outlining the conclusions of the consultation.
