ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS

Maidstone Road car park now has regular litter picking duties undertaken by Jen Contractors.  A new litter bin will be installed, Cllr. Scrivens will co-ordinate the installation with Steven Waring.

Cllr. Greenwood would like to organise a site meeting to discuss fencing repairs, drainage problems and re-lining the car park with Cllr. Scrivens and Steven Waring.

The site meeting in the Square with MBC on Monday 11th January was a useful exercise.

MBC will report the services provided by the borough which have no cost to the parish and which extra services could be offered with associated costs.

A parishioner has raised concerns relating to excess litter and overgrown hedges in Dickley Lane.  Cllr. Jerrett will speak with the Marley Company about cutting back the hedges.

A letter from our MP Helen Whately, concerning Operation Stack will be responded to, outlining ongoing concerns about inconsiderate overnight lorry parking throughout the parish, which is exasperated during times when Stack is implemented.

Missing or damaged signage throughout the parish will be considered as a project for further consideration, in the meantime issues with signage should be reported to KCC.

The meeting with J Whittle and Boughton Malherbe Cllrs. On 11th January, to discuss

provision of HGV signage will be reported at full council.

 

PROJECT REPORTS

Projects to improve the facilities of the parish for consideration, subject to budget agreement, will include all the play areas, CCTV, web-site, tourism, picnic site, churchyard, open spaces planting, and WCs.  If the Christmas Lighting team approach LPC for help it would also be considered.  Recommendations will be presented at the LPC meeting.

Letter from Douglas Charity concerning trustee position to be discussed at LPC meeting.

Cllr. Greenwood will attend HPC meeting in January.
