REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE
ON WEDNESDAY 19th OCTOBER 2016 at 7.30pm

- ENVIRONMENT WORKS & PROJECT UPDATES
The project to provide new public toilet facilities is progressing well, a detailed proposal will be proposed in conjunction with MBC. Funding options will be investigated.
The collation of information for the Lenham Tourist web-site is almost complete. Comparisons for hosting costs and negotiations on set up fees are on-going.
The new sign post for the Square will be ordered and the funding application sent to KCC.
The LPC will provide four finger posts, five other posts are sponsored by local businesses.
The Ham Lane play park equipment has been fully installed and well received.
Concerns have been raised that the equipment is being used by an older age group, with the possibility of equipment damage, the situation will be monitored.
It was agreed to recommend to full council to accept the quote to cut back the tree at the Ham Lane play park and to have the drive at the cemetery cut back in readiness for the Remembrance parade on 13th November.
The LPC public indemnity insurance will cover the planters throughout the parish.
A meeting will be organised with the Clerk, Chairman, and Down to Earth contractor to discuss the upkeep of the planters not adopted by volunteers.
The communication of the Neighbourhood Plan team statements submitted for the MBC Local Plan enquiry will be produced in a newsletter. A public meeting will be undertaken following the publication of the inspector’s report.
The Clerk will request the report from the MBC tree officer following the recent site visit.
Recommendations to full council for consideration of grant applications received from five village clubs are: Lenham Wanderers FC (under 18s) £500, Young at Heart Club (£300) Lenham Baby & Toddler Club (£250) Lenham Bowling Club (£500) Len Valley Community Hub (£300)
KALC AGM. Cllr. Greenwood will attend on behalf of LPC on Saturday November 19th.
