REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE
ON WEDNESDAY 20thFEBRUARY 2019 AT 9.10pm.

1. TO ACCEPT APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Cllr. M Ballard who is attending a CIL meeting at MBC on behalf of LPC.

3. ENVIRONMENTAL, MAINTENANCE WORKS & PROJECT UPDATES
The tree surgeon will undertake pollarding of the Limes in the Square and look at the trees next to the Maidstone Road car park, the work will be undertaken early morning to minimise disruption.
The gate at the Maidstone Road entrance to the footpath will have a rubber strip placed on the post to eliminate noise on opening and closing.
The annual inspection of the parish playgrounds confirmed the BMX ramp requires considerable repairs and renovation works. The recommendation of the committee is removal of equipment for safety reasons. Quotes are being sought for replacement ramps and will be discussed at full council.
The lights at Platts Heath on Headcorn Road are being repaired as water damage is causing a hazard.
Cllr. Osborne will investigate the possibility of a security light for the church porch area and he will alter the times for the flood light coverage of the churchyard.
Following details from NALC concerning accessibility regulations for web-sites, Cllrs. will review the present system, look at alternative options and further discuss a professional web-site upgrade.
Cllr. Huggens will speak with a local business concerning litter problems and site maintenance.

Nomination papers for the Parish Council election on May 2ndare available from the Clerk.
The Process Gallery information will be uploaded on the parish council tourism web-site.
A memorial service organised by RBL will be held at the cemetery for Canadian troops on March 20th.
The meeting closed at 10.05pm
