REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE
ON WEDNESDAY 18th OCTOBER 2017 AT 8.20pm

Cemetery works update: The base for the shed will be delivered Monday October 30th and the shed installed on Friday November 10th. The handyman will prepare the site ready for the new shed.
Lenham Storage will install the compost bins next to the shed, week beginning November 13th. The hedge along the A20 will be cut and the drive way cleared in readiness for the Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday 12th November. The rabbit proof fencing will be extended to the south west corner.
The drainage works to the Maidstone Road carpark will be undertaken Thursday 19th October.
Cllrs. Greenwood and Huggens will meet at Royton Avenue to inspect the trees.
The trip hazard along the Limes has been repaired, other areas will need works as identified.
New hand towel dispensers will be ordered for the WCs. A new bin liner to replace the damaged bin at the William Pitt field will be ordered.
Concerns about safety issues relating to over height pallets being stacked close to the Old Ashford Road will be reported to MBC.
Cllr. Walmsley will write to C. Cllr. Prendergast concerning the High Street junction improvements, to enable traffic calming works to be undertaken.
Cllrs. are dissatisfied with grass contractors work and have received complaints, which will be investigated.
Cllrs. recommend a budget meeting at November F & GP with all council members invited to attend.
Cllrs. wishing to undertake a project should present costings for consideration.
Cllr. Ballard is organising the funds to be transferred from HSBC to NatWest account, in readiness for the purchase of the Ham Lane allotment site.
Solicitors have been instructed to complete land transfer deeds for the Glebe pond to LPC ownership.
