REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

The overgrown hedge at the Faversham Road junction has been cut back to enhance vehicle visibility for traffic joining the A20.
Due to the age of the locks on the three external doors of the WCs the locks will be fully replaced.
Following vandalism to the door frame on the Ladies, the electronic locking system will require repair
or replacement, this will take place once the new locks have been installed.
There is a leak in the water tank, the water has been turned off at the mains. The plumber will attend to the leak once the new locks have been installed and he can gain access to the loft.
For health and safety reasons the WCs will remain locked until all works have been completed.
The removal of two trees to the rear of the Community Centre will be undertaken (subject to weather conditions) on 30thApril at a cost of £2,100.
A quote has been requested for the removal of the tree at the allotment access road.
The church wall requires stone repair work and removal of ivy growth. The catch on the gate at the church needs replaced. The handyman will be instructed to carry out the work.
The beds up the High Street will be weeded, and the steps cleared, also weed spraying undertaken.
Royton Avenue tree works will be completed this month, Maidstone Road tree work to be confirmed.
The Speed indicator device (SID) will have data downloaded and the battery changed on the 19th.
Details of new signage and road markings at the junction of the High Street and Ham Lane have been delivered to near by dwellings and posted on the notice boards.
A meeting will take place with the developers of the Paddock site to discuss an amendment to the easement agreement to permit possible access to drains in Groom Way.
Members from the Lenham Wanderers Football Club (LWFC) will meet with Cllrs. to discuss the future provision of pitches and the present William Pitt field site.
