REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

ON WEDNESDAY 16thJANUARY 2019  AT 9.30pm

Cllrs. M Ballard, M Cockett, C Huggens, & N Osborne.  Cllr. J Britt was also present.

2.         DISCLOSURES AND CONFIDENTIAL ITEMS ON THE AGENDA   

No disclosures or confidential items on the agenda.

3.              ENVIRONMENTAL, MAINTENANCE WORKS & PROJECT UPDATES

The rabbit proof fencing at the cemetery will be completed this month, including the removal of the shed to the south of the site. The Commonwealth Graves Commission generously donated £1,343 for the fencing.  The Parish Council contributed the remaining £2,755.  

Lenham Storage have offered to sponsor and install a large compost facility in the north corner of the cemetery near the new shed.

4.         ACCOUNTS & FINANCIAL REPORTS/REVIEWS

No items to discuss.

5.         BUDGET 2019 -2020 CONFIRMATION OF PRECEPT

The receipt requirement submitted to MBC was for £144,300. This equates to £99.18 per band D property.

6.          CORRESPONDENCE   

A letter concerning the replanting of a memorial tree to be placed at the Glebe pond site was passed to Lenham Meadows Trust as land owners for consideration.  The Parish Council will honour the previous agreement that the cost of the tree and plaque will be funded by the Council.

Cllr. Britt has progressed the Lenham Community Emergency Plan which follows the template of the Kent

Resilience Forum.  Subject to agreement a contact list of local volunteers will be produced. The Clerk will hold the details. The final draft will be submitted to Maidstone Borough Council and will be a public document on the LPC web-site.  

Cllr. Britt will represent LPC at a meeting on February 8that Platts Heath, concerning the recent investigations by Highways England relating to a possible Lorry Park in the area.
