REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE ON WEDNESDAY 15th FEBRUARY 2017 at 8.50pm

- ENVIRONMENT WORKS & PROJECT UPDATES
Cllr. Greenwood confirmed a close board fence has been erected by the URC developers on the east boundary of the Maidstone Road footpath. He reported marker pegs on the Parapet field boundary which may cause a trip hazard.
Cllr. Walmsley suggested discussing parking issues with a former KCC highways consultant to consider undertaking a parking/traffic flow survey. The final plans from the consultant for the High Street & Ham Lane junction traffic calming initiative, should be available for
further consideration in the next month.
Cllr. Greenwood suggested recommending to full council engaging a local architect to provide a sketch of proposed new WCs project for submission to MBC.
A second quote for a parish tree audit will be sought.
Cllr. Scrivens reported all the dog bins are ready for installation.
A recommendation for the William Pitt field grounds maintenance to be undertaken by the
Lenham Wanderers FC and the churchyard works to be carried out by Down to Earth, will be discussed at the LPC meeting.
HSBC wish to close an account LPC have not used for over a year. Cllr. Ballard offered to look at alternative providers and report back.
Rural Kent annual membership to be recommended to full council.
A request for a grant to Air Ambulance will not be recommended.
MBC confirmed the Council Tax and Precept 2017/18 is tax base 1,402.0, precept request £101,000, Band D Council Tax is £72.00
A letter from Downsmail concerning web-site links will be passed to Cllr. Smith-Essex for advice and recommendations.
