REPORT OF THE FINANCE & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE
ON WEDNESDAY 17th AUGUST 2016 AT 7.30pm.

Cllr. Osborne declared an interest in the Community Centre land transfer which will be discussed under correspondence. There were no confidential items on the agenda.
- ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS & PROJECT UPDATES
Cllr. Scrivens will deliver letters to local retailers for details of the requirements and wording for the finger posts in the Square.
Cllr. Osborne proposed, Cllr. Greenwood seconded and it was RESOLVED to accept the quote for £236 to have a light switch timer inserted in the flood lighting unit at the Maidstone Road car park.
Cllrs. Greenwood and Scrivens will meet on site at the car park to decide on the position and number of new signs required.
Cllr. Nye requested a quote for a stand-alone Lenham Parish Tourist web-site from Falcon.
Cllrs. Greenwood and Osborne will meet the MBC tree officer to decide of works on the Beech tree at the cemetery and trees to the rear of the Community Centre.
The quote for the cemetery tree works will be discussed at the October LPC meeting.
A letter has been received concerning the Groom Way memorial trees re-planting.
Cllrs. Greenwood and Osborne will carry out a site meeting and carry out a tree audit.
No cheques for payment.
A letter concerning the original purchase of the Community Centre site from the landowner outlined the owner’s intention for the use of the land.
Cllr. Osborne made four suggestions to complete the transfer, for consideration of all the LPC members. The Clerk will circulate the suggestions and request a prompt response in order to further the transaction.
