Licenced waste removal for Kent
As a public body Lenham Parish Council cannot recommend traders, whether local or otherwise, however Kent County Council which does licence waste removal services has the following link to licenced waste removal services on the Check-a-Trade website and you can access that information here.
Household Duty of Care
Under the Sec 34 Environmental Protection Act 1990, every person has a duty to ensure that their waste is disposed of correctly. This essentially means that for each stage of the journey, they must ensure they know where their waste is going. If they allow someone to take waste away, they need to record who has taken it. This information includes Name, Company, Vehicle Registration, Telephone Number and Waste Carriers Registration. The more information that can be collected, the better. Also, the household would discharge any liability to prosecution. This is colloquially known as a waste transfer note.
Below is the link for persons to complete an online waste transfer note, prior to letting someone take their waste away.

Lower Tier holders are only permitted to carry green waste so landscapers, gardeners etc. The Upper level allows a carrier to take all forms of waste.
